Celebration of Life Ceremonies

Celebrate the life of a loved one with a private outrigger canoe Celebration of Life ceremony with Koa’e Outrigger on the waters of Maui.

Guided by experienced watermen and rooted in respect for the ocean and Hawaiian traditions, each ceremony offers family and friends a meaningful opportunity to gather, reflect, share memories, and celebrate a life well lived in a peaceful and beautiful setting.

Ceremonies depart from Bullyland (235 North Kihei Road) and typically last about one hour. Each family member is provided with a lei as part of the ceremony.

Our canoes can accommodate:

• Single-Hull Canoe –
  Up to 4 family members | $500

• Double-Hull Canoe –
  Up to 10 family members | $1,000

Every family is unique, and we are happy to discuss your wishes by phone, including the number of guests, flowers, lei, and any personal touches you would like to incorporate into the ceremony.

We make every effort to conduct ceremonies on the water. If weather conditions make paddling unsafe, we are happy to reschedule. For families with travel constraints, a meaningful beach ceremony can also be arranged when appropriate.

Some families choose to gather for a meal or spend time together following the ceremony, and we encourage you to create an experience that best celebrates your loved one's life.
